Governance for Adult Social Care

The governance for adult social care programme is designed to support board members, non-executive directors and trustees of adult social care businesses and charities. The Programme 

This easy-to-use and flexible e-learning tool is designed specifically for people in non-executive roles. It provides all the information that new and experienced Board Members need to support good governance.

Comprising five half-hour e-learning modules, the course provides bite-sized learning specifically designed for the adult social care sector. Because it is delivered online, it can be accessed whenever and wherever is convenient. It is therefore especially suitable for busy people who have other commitments in addition to their Board roles.

The five modules are based on the Skills Academy’s Governance Framework for Adult Social Care, and cover: 

  • Key legislation and social care policy
  • Adult social care values
  • Good business practice
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Using financial information to improve quality and drive growth

What do I get?

You will receive access to all five online modules, enabling you to learn when it suits you. The modules are delivered through the Skills Academy’s Careship Development Zone, via the Academy’s website: this also provides you with access to a wide range of learning resources and support materials alongside the main programme.

The programme comprises a mix of bite-sized knowledge, video clips and links to key documents and websites. 

Each module contains quiz’s to help you check your learning.

How do I start the programme?

Once you have purchased the programme by following the process at the bottom of this page launch the governance programme by signing in at the top of this page using the email address and password you used to purchase the programme.
