Education and training organisations
Endorsement of training and education organisations comprises two stages:
- Stage 1 Recognition
- Stage 2 The Excellence Award

Chart showing the two stages for endorsement of training
and education organisations.
Stage 1 Recognition explores the underpinning mission, aims and delivery structures of an organisation. Once gained it entitles the holder to have details of their organisation put on the Skills Academy database of training providers. This will give market advantage as employers looking for training will be able to select from a list of providers who have been through a sector-specific quality assurance process. Recognised providers may also have some membership advantages and opportunities.
Stage 2 The Excellence Award builds on Recognition, and explores how organisational values and processes are applied to training in adult social care. The criteria on which the Excellence Award is based seek to ensure that an organisation understands the needs of regulatory bodies, employers, employees and people who use services, and build their training provision on the basis of this understanding.
Organisations which attain the Excellence Award will be able to use the Skills Academy’s Excellence logo on marketing and publicity materials for courses and programmes which fall within their adult social care provision. This marketing tool should give significant market advantage to excellent training providers.
