Cash bonus for London care employers taking on young workers

Care sector employers in London can now receive £2,500 for employing a young person aged 18-24. The English Community Care Association, who are represented on the Skills Academy Board, and ACAS have successfully bid to manage a Future Jobs Fund scheme to employ 90 young people in the capital’s care sector.

The scheme represents a fantastic opportunity for care sector employers to be subsidised and supported to employ young people in the region. As well as the cash incentive for taking on a young employee the scheme also offers free pre-employment skills training to equip eligible individuals with the right attitude towards the scheme from the start. An added bonus is the free management training available for care managers working directly with the young people, worth up to £1,000 per person, delivered by Acas.

Eligible employers need to offer job seekers a placement of at least six months, at least 25 hours work per week, wages which reflect the London Living Allowance and the appropriate level of supervision.

If you are interested in participating in the scheme please contact Maria Patterson at ECCA:020 7492 4844 or email:
