Peter Beresford OBE is Chair of Shaping Our Lives, the national
independent service user controlled organisation and network, and a long
term user of mental health services.
He is also Professor of Social Policy and Director of the Centre for Citizen Participation at Brunel University.
He is a member of the Advisory Board of the National Institute for
Health Research, and of NIHR Involve and Academician of the Academy of
Learned Societies of the Social Sciences.
He has a longstanding interest in user involvement and workforce issues in social care and health.
