
James joined Bupa Care Services in September 2002 in the role of
Management Development Consultant, with the key objective to design and
deliver a first-class leadership and management development strategy
across Bupa Care Homes. He then moved on to the role of Head of People
Development, before taking up his current role as Head of Organisation
Development and Talent.
With over fifteen years experience in the field of leadership,
management and organisation development, he joined Bupa from a leading
financial services plc where he headed up their leadership and
management development function - implementing a highly successful
development programme across the organisations’ 450 branches. Prior to
that he was a freelance learning and development consultant, working in
many different sectors throughout the UK.
James is a licensed master practitioner of Neuro Linguistic
Programming TM (NLP) and also qualified to level B in occupational
testing, being fully trained and licensed to use a wide range of
personality and assessment tools. A graduate of the University of
Huddersfield, his professional recognitions include being a chartered
fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. His
career highlights include leading Bupa to three successes at the
National Training Awards, and the highly prestigious CIPD ‘People
Management Award’ for their inspirational personalised care programme
‘Personal Best’.
James is proud to work in the care sector, and his absolute passion
is to make a difference to the lives of all those who use social care
services. His personal mission to raise the development agenda across
the industry is clear.
