Ian served in the Armed Forces for nearly 20 years in a variety of roles, primarily planning, project management, operational management systems, finance and human resources, both in the UK and extensively overseas.
Since leaving the Armed Forces in 2003, he has been employed in a number of not for profit organisations, both at board and executive level, including as a chief executive. He has worked in the not for profit sector in a voluntary capacity for over 30 years and is one of the founding directors of 2 not for profit organisations. Currently, is chair of 2 committees (audit and governance), and also provides voluntary support to a number of organisations in areas such as leadership development, recruiting, managing change, marketing and business development.
Ian holds a BSc (Chemistry), MSc (Corporate Management), the ACCA postgraduate diploma in accounting and finance, and is a certificated member of the Institute of Fundraising.
He is married with one son and lives in Buckinghamshire.
